It is a complete kit for engine air intake and filtration. This device mainly consists of an oval carbon fiber airbox that contains a cylindrical air filter with dynamic intake. The OTA kit completely replaces the vehicle's original filter box (standard airbox).
"WP" stands for Waterproof, the new OTA line, specifically designed for demanding off-road conditions and harsh environments (water, desert).
Normally, the vehicle's original airboxes operate in conditions where air is drawn from the engine in a "depression regime," through reduced-section tubes, resulting in a high pressure drop along the intake line. The OTA device, with its dynamic intake, operates in a "pressure regime," thus providing a constant and high airflow to the engine by taking advantage of the dynamic effect of air pressure.
In addition to its oval shape, which offers great installation versatility, the OTA system incorporates technical solutions within it that optimize the fluid dynamics of air towards the engine. In particular, the innovative "TRUMPET" element, located inside the airbox, near the air outlet, thanks to its shape, favors and optimizes the airflow to the engine, thus reducing turbulence. This solution reduces the pressure drop in the engine's intake line and, at the same time, takes advantage of the dynamic air pressure generated by the vehicle's speed.
The air filter inside airbox 1 is made of a pre-oiled multilayer filtering material that ensures high filtration efficiency with minimal pressure drop. The air filter protects the engine from all elements (debris, sand, dust, etc.) present in the airflow during the intake phase. The BMC air filter has a very low pressure drop (i.e., the pressure difference between the engine's airflow and that of the air intake) to maximize airflow.
The BMC air filter is washable and reusable. Once the saturation level is reached, it is possible to
regenerate the filter by washing and re-oiling it with the corresponding regeneration kit.
